BIKE AND PEDESTRIAN PATHWAY:

In 1980 Ropp and Mary Emma Triplett met with Ohio Department of Transportation on a bike walk path from Harmon Field to Bluffton Village Park.

In 1985 Ropp and Mary Emma visited the Department of Transportation to check the possibility of a path again.

Village Council passed an Ordinance 21-86 in December of 1986 authorizing the construction of a bike path.

In August of 1990 a ribbon cutting was completed, opening the first 2.5 miles of bike path in Bluffton.  The first section of bike route in Bluffton would not have been possible without the dedication and generosity of  Ropp and Mary Em. Triplett. The Bluffton Stone Company, Degen Excavating, and other community members.

In 2009, the Village completed the planning for the Comprehensive Bike and Pedestrian Pathway Master Plan that incorporates the existing bike and pedestrian pathways throughout the Village and provides a plan for expanding these routes with three major components: Connecting Links, Encircling the Village and a Bike Tour.

FISHING:

The Bluffton Sportsman Club maintains two former working quarries, The Buckeye and Cobb Lake, for recreational fishing, including the annual Trout Derby, held the first Sunday in May.
